McNeil Industrial Selected as Primary Water Cooling Engineer/Contractor Exceeds 50% Engineering
September 2024

McNeil Industrial, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, has been chosen by GoodLife Agriculture to engineer & construct the farm’s water cooling and product freezing systems. As industry leaders in safe, efficient ammonia-based cooling systems, McNeil have an impressive history of full service design, build, and subsequent service for projects across the United States.
Many fish species require stable water temperatures to thrive, and salmon in particular grow best in cool water below 15 degrees Celsius (59 Farenheit). Temperature changes also assist salmon progressing through their life cycle. While GoodLife Agriculture’s water source will be robust river-charged groundwater with good temperature stability, tight control will be needed to assure the best environment for each fish from hatch through harvest.
Moreover, GoodLife Agriculture’s farm team will use specialized equipment to process harvested salmon to the specifications of customers. Whether refrigerated or frozen, high quality salmon products meeting all health standards and regulations must be processed appropriately, and McNeil’s cooling expertise will be employed throughout. With their hard work, engineering for cooling systems should be 100% complete in October!
